27/3/20 New regulations due to Coronavirus:
Sadly, we have to close the burial ground to visitors but we are still open for
funerals. All Funerals have restrictions in place too, but we will do our
utmost to support families and encourage to focus on a larger memorial
gathering – Celebration of life when safe to.
05/01/20 Our 3rd Anniversary and we now have 25 residents.
05/11/19 We won an award !! Welsh Enterprise Award for Leading Provider of Natural Burial Services.
14/09/19 Attended Kington Show with Vicki of Edw Valley Flowers and we were awarded 1st Prize for the best stand !!
28/08/19 Our first woodland burial in Busnant Wood, the new woodland we are creating.
20/5/19 Our first ashes burial in Meadows Edge, close to the entrance and the picnic
bench where you can sit and look up to the hills.
3 /4/19 Our 2nd funeral in our new corner of the hay meadow, Silver Birch Glade.
05/01/19 Our 2nd Anniversary and we now have 14 residents.
27/10/18 With Edw Valley Flowers we raised over £300 for Wales Air Ambulance.
01/09/18 Had a good day at Hundred House show with Vicki of Edw Valley Flowers .
10/08/18 There was a lovely funeral today with fresh hay bales still in the meadow. The sun was shining, musicians, songs and meaningful readings of love and appreciation were read. It was a pleasure to be there.
14/7/18 Along with Vicki of Edw Valley Flowers,
we will be meeting a Royal couple at the re-opening of The Strand in Builth
Wells. A small number of local
businesses have been selected to attend the event to individually speak to both The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.
3/6/18 Our Official Opening where we raised over £600 for The Bracken Trust. We had a good turn out and it was a beautiful sunny day.
3/4/18 We have been granted planning for the adjoining meadow with intentions of creating a wood, so we will be offering woodland burials soon too!!
1/3/18 Created our Apiary for the bees in the orchard. Had a good look and surprisingly they have all survived the cold winter.
5/1/18 Our first year anniversary and we have had 5 funerals.
9/11/17 Funeral today, using our new bier.
23/10/17 We invited the children from Franksbridge Primary school to help us scatter some native wild meadow flower seeds.
6/10/17 Collected our first heather honey from our new hives.
02/09/17 Had a good day at Hundred House show with our new stand.
3/8/17 We have extended our stock of bees. Bees and equipment have been kindly donated by one of the families, so Brian’s bees can remain close to him.
24 - 27/07/17 Come and see us at the Royal Welsh Show this week.
4/5/17 We have had our second funeral today, the weather was really nice with a service in Glascwm church.
2/4/17 New arrivals today! Two hives of Bees, hopefully these will help in establishing the wild flowers in the meadow.
22/3/17 We have successfully had our first funeral.
5/1/17 We are now open!
3/12/16 Completed mapping: The whole meadow has been mapped with a GPS and a map drawn up so all plots can be accurately positioned, using a grid system.
November 2016 Planting native varieties of hedging plants and trees, full of flowers and berries around our car park.
17/5/16 Our first booked plot with a lovely comment, "that we are making people happy by allowing them to stay in our meadow."
20/4/16 After a long process we have finally received our planning permission.
01/11/15 Joined The Association of Natural Burial Grounds.
